These are both parked in front of my building, none of them is mine, my Tribeca is parked inside the building.

For some reason I thought you had sold your Tribeca not too long ago. Or were you just planning and discussing your next purchase?

Every time I see “crianças” I think of the galician chorizos.... Just as if the street was filled with hanging sausages.

And that is more Tribecas than I’ve ever seen, and it’s all at once!

I did! I traded it on a new Peugeot, but it isn’t ready for delivery yet, so I have the Tribeca for the week.

You suppose correctly.

My son goes to a school of ~60 kids. There are at least two families that own Tribecas.

Those are smart families.

Tribecas are super rare in the US for some reason.

Why did you choose a Tribeca over a Forester or wagon?

I wanted a left-field SUV. I went to see the Forester, and it was nice and drove like a Subaru, but the interior was plasticky and cheap. I decided I was going to buy it new anyway.
I asked the dealer salesperson if there were any Foresters with cream interiors. He said no, but we have this CPO Tribeca with a cream interior and low miles.
The Tribeca interior looks like this.
And it had ALL the things for the time, electric seats, bluetooth, sunroof, comfy soft seats, it looked bulkier and heavier it felt properly solid unlike the Forester. Also I loved the way it drove, the tires are massive and it didn’t feel bulky and top heavy. And it was cheaper than a new Forest with the same rates for finance.

Total lack of marketing, plus a super crowded segment.
The new Ascender will fare 10x better, I think.

I’ll have to take one for a spin sometime.

Yeah, the hawkeye grill did not translate well onto the Tribeca.

Because the first generation was incredibly ugly. I think most buyers were instantly turned away from the moustached pig nose of the first generation, and the second generation couldn’t save it.
